Kondo M7 Heritage Pre Amplifier

Classic M7 preamplifier was released in the late 1980s. It gained fame along with the legendary power amplifier ONGAKU.

While maintaining the emotional sound impression of this preamplifier, it was polished with updated crafts and technologies. Base on a well-thought-out circuit and high-quality parts that were inspected further by our eyes and hands, performance is improved and matching with modern systems is also improved.

On top of specification, wide and stable sound stage, lively emotions, and low noise level are realized.

Description

Kondo M7 Heritage Pre Amplifier

Phono amplifier unit

The modularization of the phono amplifier realizes advantages of both handwiring and short signal paths comparable to PCB. The signal loop is minimized by placing a decoupling capacitor near the module independently.

The SRPP circuit of ECC803S (12AX7) are adopted for the first stage. 6072 (12AY7) are used for plate follower, cathode follower of the second and the third stage. It achieves a highly accurate equalization with both vivid and quietness.

Line amplifier unit

The line amplifiers are also modularized like a phono amplifier unit, and the decoupling capacitors are located near right and left independently.

Direct couple of plate follower and cathode follower using 6072 (12AY7) achieves the lower output impedance 500Ω and 18Hz cutoff frequency (at 20kΩ load). It has strong driving capabilities.Power supply, the shunt heater circuit

Power supply, the shunt heater circuit

Rectification tunes is 6CA4. The power transformer and chokes are arranged so that minimum vibration is obtained. 3 kinds of decoupling capacitors are selected for well balance of tonal characteristics. Power supply is strengthened by clearly separating the ripple filter capacitors and decoupling capacitors.

Combining capacitor groups and a newly developed shunt type DC heater power supply circuit, ripples at power line is highly eliminated and heater voltage is regulated within ±5%.

Ultra-high-quality parts

Audio Note original silver foil capacitors, original electrolytic capacitors, silver lead resistors, SSW wiring material, copper main chassis, interconnect KSL-VzII, original RCA Jacks, original power transformers, chokes and a lot. Other parts such as market capacitors and resistors are selected carefully for each specific positions.

On heavy and bulky items the charges can be quite high so please enquire via e-mail or telephone us for an exact cost to avoid mis-understandings.

Delivery times are based on current workloads, we try to dispatch in stock orders within 3 days of receipt, if your order is urgent please add a note in the order comments box. Occasionally we may run out of stock of an item or if it is built to order (power supply’s, mains leads etc) it could take slightly longer to dispatch.

Shipping charges start at £1.95 for small items like plugs and connectors, heavy items cost more and need to be sent insured delivery so please consider that when the cost appears in your basket.

Any questions about postage or delivery please tel. 01484 540561 or send us an e-mail

All items on the site (except those made to order) can be returned under the consumer contracts regulations within 30 days. Please contact us prior to returning so we can discuss your requirements. If the item has been specially ordered (not specially made) we reserve the right to charge a nominal re-stocking fee. Items classed as “tailor made” cannot be returned under the regulations although Brook Audio may accept the return under certain circumstances.

Please note if you order goods from Brook Audio and live outside the EU you may have to pay import duty/taxes on your purchase. We have no control over this charge and we do not pre-pay the charges for you. We do not declare a lower value to avoid customs charges so PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO DO THIS.

We get asked 100’s of times every week for tracking numbers, these are usually a waste of time as they only tell you that the goods are progressing through the carriers system. Usually for items sent overseas the country you live in will determine how quickly your goods arrive, as an example the Spanish postal service is very very slow, the Russian customs clearance can take weeks as well as Brazil.
